For our 2022 Christmas outreach campaign, the team at House of Cars launched Hope For The Holidays as a way to give back to the communities that have supported our growth over the years.

Through our website and social media channels, Albertans were given the opportunity to nominate a friend, coworker or neighbour who they felt could use a bit of an uplift this Christmas. From there the team at the House of Cars Foundation reviewed the submissions and hand-selected families whose stories stuck out as exceptional.

Raising funds from every car sold in the month of November, we were able to put together gift packages for over 20 Alberta families, with each package containing roughly $500 in gift cards.

We'd like to thank those who submitted nominations, and to the Alberta community that has trusted House of Cars for all their automotive needs since we first opened in 2012. It has been a pleasure serving Alberta and we firmly believe in giving back to the community that got us started in the first place.

Hope For The Holidays gifts were handed out to select families in Calgary, Airdrie, Edmonton, Leduc and Medicine Hat.

House of Cars is proud to have participated in the twelfth annual Coats For Calgary coat drive, collecting warm, used, winter coats for Calgary's less fortunate.

With the help of generous Calgarians, we helped collect over 6000 jackets for Calgary’s less fortunate and had many other businesses and groups come on board this year to support the cause.

On Thursday, the Coats for Calgary Team delivered all the jackets to the Calgary Drop-In Centre and thanks to all of you, we’ll be making a significant impact on the lives of those that need it most. It couldn't have been a better time to drop them off with the cold snap that is coming to Calgary this weekend and the Calgary Drop-In's critical need for warm coats.

A huge thank you to all of you that helped collect and donated jackets of your own! You are an essential piece of Coats For Calgary and we’re beyond grateful for your help. Coats for Calgary has grown year over year and big things are to come for 2023! We're proud to have been able to support such an amazing organization again this year!

Do you know someone who could use some holiday cheer this Winter? The House of Cars Foundation is looking for nominations for our Hope For The Holidays campaign! If you know someone who has been struggling and could use some good-will, fill out our nomination form and we might be helping them get back on track! We're accepting nominations from all over Alberta!

$50 from every car we sell in the month of November and December will contribute to a fund, which we'll use to help as many families as we can this Winter.

What we need you to do is help us find the families that need some support! Weather it's groceries, toys, furniture or winter tires, we want to help! If you know someone who could use their bills paid, we want to help! If you know someone who needs help fixing their vehicle, we want to help!

Nominate your neighbour, your coworker, family members or whoever you feel deserves a holiday uplift. There is no one-size-fits-all gift package. Our aim is to help families with whatever they need. Tell us their story and how we can help!

We'll be closing nominations on December 1st and will review each and every one of them. We'll pick the submissions that captivate us the most and will surprise those individuals with their gifts in late December.

The number of families we help will depend on the funds raised in our Hope For The Holidays pool. The more cars we sell, the more families we can help out!

With all House of Cars locations acting as official coat drop-off locations, we're honored to be supporting this fantastic cause. We encourage you to bring in a used jacket next time you're in the area of any of our eight Calgary dealerships. One jacket that you're no longer using can go a long way!

2022 marks the twelfth annual jacket drive with the hopes to surpass last year's previous impressive record of over 7,000 jackets donated. With over 40 sponsors and businesses involved, the goal is to surpass that amount, a number that was never thought to be obtainable when first kicking off the jack drive 12 years ago.

About The Calgary Drop-In & Rehab Centre Society:

For more than 50 years, the Calgary Drop-In & Rehab Centre Society has delivered services and supports to people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Open 365 days a year, twenty-four hours a day, the Calgary Drop-In sleeps over 1,000 people per night and serves approximately 3,000 meals a day. The Calgary Drop-In offers emergency services to over 20,000 Calgarians each year. It also offers affordable housing: Bridgeland Manor is a 48-unit market rent and affordable housing apartment that provides stable and independent living for seniors; Sundial is a 114 unit apartment building, offering market rent and affordable housing together in a community setting. The Calgary Drop-In relies on monetary donations to fund its fifty programs and services.
