Royal Rally 2023 Covers more than 1,800km on Automotive Scavenger Hunt

Royal Rally recently wrapped up their 23rd automotive scavenger hunt rally and House of Cars was there to take in the scenery, the cars and the immense fun along the way!
Starting at House of Cars Barlow Trail, 65 sports cars from all over Canada gathered for the anticipated yearly adrenaline-fest that takes teams on a competitive scavenger hunt event across Alberta and British Columbia.
Teams registered from all over Western Canada, from as far as Winnipeg, Vancouver Island and Saskatoon.
Day 1 saw rally teams depart House of Cars for Revelstoke, B.C., in search of checkpoints where teams answer trivia questions and compete in head-to-head challenges to earn points. The event stopped in Banff, Radium, Fairmont Hot Springs and Golden before stopping for the night in Revelstoke.

The next day teams headed South to Nakusp, via the Upper Arrow Lake Ferry, and West to the Sparkling Hill Resort via the Needles Ferry, taking on more fun-filled checkpoints along the way. The Sparkling Hill Resort played host to the rally teams for an evening of relaxation at the world-class resort.
The final day saw rally-goers visit such locations as the World's Largest Lawnmower, The Last Spike and Three Valley Gap before concluding the event.

With cars like a '65 Shelby Cobra replica, Widebody C8 Chevrolet Corvette, Lotus Evora GT, numerous Audi R8s, AMG GTs', Shelbys, Porsches, Hellcat Challengers and more, the event was filled with plenty of horsepower!
House of Cars was this year's title sponsor and we enjoyed having the event visit our Barlow Trail location to kick off the event.

It is also the primary referral centre for all complex pediatric heart surgeries and transplants and is home to Canada’s largest regional program for neonatal intensive and intermediate care. House of Cars Announces Sponsorship Of AMSA Offroad Ladies-Junior Rider, Izzy Bley!

House of Cars is excited to announce its sponsorship of #999 Izzy Bley for the 2023 AMSA Offroad Racing season!
Izzy is an accomplished Ladies-Junior racer and has been involved with dirtbikes since she was eight years old; racing cross-country and hare-scrambles. For the past five years she’s been honing in on her skills and is looking forward to the season ahead!
Izzy describes herself as ultra-competitive and aspires to be just like Melissa Harten, an accomplished Canadian Offroad champion.
The first AMSA Offroad race of the year was held on May 13 and 14 in Alix, AB, and hosted a number of different racing classes, including Izzy’s group.

Saturday she raced in the Ladies Intermediate class, where she placed 2nd overall! This is not a class she typically races in, so this was a huge accomplishment in itself!
Sunday she raced Ladies Junior class and placed 1st! Way to go, Izzy!
We took the opportunity to call Izzy, while she was on the way to the first AMSA Offroad race of the season, to get some more information on the season ahead! We can’t wait to cheer Izzy on as she takes on this year’s racing season! She's already making us proud!
House of Cars is also a proud sponsor of the AMSA Offroad racing season!

Pre-Race Interview With Izzy Bley:
How old were you when you first started racing?
I was eight years old when I first started.
What inspired you to start racing in offroad racing, and how did you get started?
My family has been into racing for a while, so they got me interested in it. My brother races in a different class, and we both ride together a lot.
How competitive are you when it comes to racing?
I’m very competitive! I am really hard on myself because I want to be the best!
What is your favourite part about racing?
I love how it makes me feel. It’s very exciting and I get really nervous in the mornings, but it’s a lot of fun and I always look forward to it! I always have a lot of excitement on race days!
Can you walk us through a typical race day for you?
I typically wake up at 8 a.m., eat breakfast, get geared up and then head to the track. I help my mom out with ticket sales and getting the riders registered. Then usually I watch the other races and cheer everyone on. When it’s my turn, I start up my bike to let it warm up and then go for a warm up ride before we have our rider’s meeting.
Is there anyone who you idolized, growing up, who got you excited about racing?
Melissa Harten is someone who I look up to. She’s a Canadian champion and I really admire her and want to be like her.
What kind of training do you do to prepare for races?
I usually go to the track at least once a week to practice. I also usually go out to the mountains to ride at least twice a week and then I ride a few more times after school as well. I am usually practicing about 4-5 times a week.
With this being the first race of the season, how nervous or excited are you?
I’m really nervous. We’re going to Alix (AB) and I have neve raced there before. But I’m excited to go there and give it my all!
How do you balance school and other commitments with your racing schedule?
All my teachers know that I am very serious about racing, so they help me work it into my schedule. I sometimes have a makeup session in the evenings so I can catch up on school, but everyone is very supportive.

Having participated in over 10 Royal Rally events, the team at House of Cars is excited to be participating in, and sponsoring, Royal Rally's 23rd road rally event in its 9 years of operation!
Royal Rally has released the itinerary for its Retro event and it looks awesome:

Driving Distance: 550km
Day 3 (Vernon – 3 Valley Gap):
The ‘sleep-in and relax,’ with a shorter drive day!
Day 3 will see teams depart Vernon later in the morning, around 10 a.m., heading for the Three Valley Gap ghost town. The event will end with a lunchtime awards ceremony and BBQ in the historic ghost town.

On this event, teams will compete for points, solving clues along the way. Points are earned by completing tasks at checkpoint locations along the route. The event will wrap up at approximately 2 p.m. on Monday, June 26.
Royal Rally strongly encourages teams to join in on the fun with costumes, vehicle wraps & graphics and gimmicks to increase the fun-factor on the event. The theme for this event is 80s and 90s pop culture!

If you know someone who has been struggling and could use some good-will, fill out our nomination form and we might be helping them get back on track! We're accepting nominations from all over Alberta!

What we need you to do is help us find the families that need some support! Weather it's groceries, toys, furniture or winter tires, we want to help! If you know someone who could use their bills paid, we want to help! If you know someone who needs help fixing their vehicle, we want to help!
Nominate your neighbour, your coworker, family members or whoever you feel deserves a holiday uplift. There is no one-size-fits-all gift package. Our aim is to help families with whatever they need. Tell us their story and how we can help!
We'll be closing nominations on December 1st and will review each and every one of them. We'll pick the submissions that captivate us the most and will surprise those individuals with their gifts in late December.
The number of families we help will depend on the funds raised in our Hope For The Holidays pool. The more cars we sell, the more families we can help out!

House of Cars at Endorphin Dream Garage Open House & BBQ!

Our House of Cars marketing team recently went to check out the Endorphin Dream Garage open house and barbecue to celebrate the launch of their sports car & SUV member-ship-driven rental business.
Our team brought out our brand new ambulance marketing and events vehicle, a matte black Bentley Continental GT and a pink Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG. The Bentley and Mercedes were both showstoppers, but the ambulance took home the cake for the most interesting vehicle!

We had a blast checking out Ferraris, Porsches, Teslas and more, while getting to know other passionate car enthusiasts who attended the event.
Endorphin Dream Garage is group of passionate owners of luxury and exotic cars and trucks who wanted to be able to drive more than one or two vehicles, without the cost or hassle of constantly buying and selling.
They have aggregated Calgary's best fleet of luxury and exotic vehicles and are now offering exclusive car-sharing memberships to other enthusiasts who don't have the desire to stick to one car, nor the time to constantly research and buy and sell vehicles to gain new experiences.

Best of all, they take care of all the maintenance, upkeep and storage so you can focus on your work and your family and just enjoy the rides in between!
Check them out here!
We look forward to building a strong relationship with the Endorphin Garage team in the years to come!

Royal Rally

House of Cars is a proud sponsor of the Royal Rally!
Check out the new video by Royal Rally below!
The Royal Rally is not just a road trip with a group of nice cars. It's the epitome of adventure! And you can't have an adventure without it's challenges.
We bring together a group of enthusiasts and put them through what Royal Rally calls "a supercharged scavenger-hunt on wheels."
Teams are given route cards with checkpoints, activities and other adventure driven challenges. They must complete each challenge to earn points by solving questions, taking photos and completing bonus tasks for additional points. At the end, the team with the most points wins the first, second or third place trophies!
Teams are also awarded for other things, such as uniqueness, team themes, teamwear and much more! The most memorable teams get to take home the Royal Rally Spirit Award.
Yes, the cars are fast, but racing is not the purpose of the Royal Rally. In fact, teams are penalized for racing and arriving too early to checkpoints. Speeding and reckless driving are not tolerated by Royal Rally.
So now that you know more about the Royal Rally, be sure to follow both Royal Rally & House of Cars on Facebook to be notified of the next kick off event!
